About Amber

For 13 years, Amber was a professional actor in New York and Los Angeles. She starred Off-Broadway in 50 Shades! The Musical, taught and performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, and did improv around the world with Baby Wants Candy. And who could forget her one line on Masters of Sex? Note: It’s safe to look up the clip. You won’t find it and she’s not naked.

Growing tired of waiting for auditions, she started freelance writing. She started by writing pickle recipe roundups for Snooki’s blog and now writes for The New York Times, MTV, Thrillist, IFC, Bustle, Greatist, Healthline, Parade, and more.

In January 2021, Amber debuted her class Freelance Writing for Creatives. Since then, her students have appeared in Business Insider, Huffington Post, Vox, Eater, Thrillist, Buzzfeed, the San Francisco Chronicle, and many more. Most of them started with…no previous writing samples.

All of Amber’s writing work started after 30. If you’re not 21 and want to try writing (and getting paid for it), you’re not weird. It’s normal and you can start something new at any age. Amber can help you do it.

Other fun facts about Amber:

She sang “Part of Your World” in her first grade talent show and hasn’t stop singing it since.

She appeared on “Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Take-Away” to do a prank on Jeremy Kyle (host of a Jerry Springer style show)

She sang on Childish Gambino album. Not the one he won a Grammy for, the one he made in his Long Island City apartment.
